Shelton is a town in Fairfield county in Connecticut. It was formed in 1789 from the following town or towns: Stratford. Shelton is a part of the Shelton probate district and has been since 1889. Bridgeport was/were the previous chronological district or districts. For more information, contact the county at 54 Hill St. P.O. Box 364 Shelton 06484-0364. On the attached map, Fairfield is located at C6. Both the town and district of Shelton were called Huntington until 1919.
