Putnam is a county in West Virginia. It was formed in 1848 from the following county/ies: Kanawha/Cabell/Mason. Putnam began keeping birth records in 1854, marriage records in 1848, and death records in 1853. It began keeping land records in 1848, probate records in 1848, and court records in 1848.
