Putnam is a county in Tennessee. It was formed in 1854 from the following county/ies: White/Jackson/Overton/Smith/DeKalb. Putnam began keeping birth records in 1908, marriage records in 1878, and death records in 1879. It began keeping land records in 1825, probate records in 1874, and court records in 1842.
