Pipestone is a county in Minnesota. It was formed in 1857 (1879) from the following county/ies: Brown/*Big Sioux/(exchanged name with Rock, 1862)*Redwood/*Watonwan/*Cottonwood/*Rock. Pipestone began keeping birth records in 1877, marriage records in 1879, and death records in 1877. It began keeping land records in 1879, probate records in 1880, and court records in 1879.
