Often referred to as the New Hampshire Records and Archives, this office holds the provincial (court, probate, and deed) records before 1771 (and some after that date), maps, military records, and state copies of the federal censuses. Many records were published in the New Hampshire State Papers (see Background Sources for New Hampshire), including original records before 1771 that are cataloged and accessible in the archives. Additionally, this office has many original town records, all legislative petitions, and a guide to its resources on the website.
