The following chart indicates what vital, land, probate, and court records are in each county. The dates indicated are the first known records for each county. County records may still be with the county, at the Nevada State Library and Archives, and/or on microfilm at the FHL. Some data from Greene's work (See Background Sources for Nevada) was also used.

In Nevada, the county recorders hold land records, except in two cases where the county assessor's office handles them. County clerks have probate records, and the clerk of the courts maintains court records. Current contact information to the individual counties can be found on the website 'Nevada County and City Information'. A list of what record types can be found and which office handles them can be found on the Nevada State Library and Archives website.
