Montgomery is a county in Maryland. It was formed in 1776 from Frederick county. The first land deed in Montgomery was recorded in 1777. Orphan Court records begin in 1777. For more information, contact the circuit county clerk at 50 Maryland Ave., Rockville 20850. On the attached map, Montgomery is located at F3. A southern section of the county was set off in 1788 to form the District of Columbia.
