There is no central registry for cemeteries located in Missouri. The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) have compiled and published numerous inscriptions of cemeteries throughout the state. Many of these records have been microfilmed and are available through the Family History Library. Elizabeth Gorrell Kot's and Shirley Pugh Thomson's Missouri Cemetery Inscription Sources: Print and Microfilm (Vallejo, Calif.: Indices Publishing, 1995) includes FHL microfilm and microfiche numbers.

An Index to the Cemetery Locations in the Missouri Ozarks is available from the Ozarks Genealogical Society (see Missouri Land Records for address) for $20. The publication covers a forty-one-county area south of the Missouri River, listing over 5,000 cemeteries by name and location.

Some cemetery inscriptions are found online and can be located here: Missouri Cemetery Records
