Mercer is a county in Illinois. It was formed in 1825 (1835) from the following county/ies: unorganized (Pike)/*Schulyer/*Peoria/*Warren. Mercer began keeping birth records in 1877, marriage records in 1835, and death records in 1877. It began keeping land records in 1834, probate records in 1837, and court records in 1836.
