The society provides a free list of genealogists or, for a fee, will have a professional genealogist check their indexed holdings. The society publishes the Maryland Historical Magazine Maryland Periodicals, Newspapers, and Manuscript Collections). In 1883, it also began The Archives of Maryland, now published by the Maryland State Archives, which sells back issues.
