Kent is a county in Maryland. It was formed by 1642 from the following county/ies: original. The first land deed in Kent was recorded in 1648. Orphan Court records begin in 1674. For more information, contact the circuit county clerk at 103 North Cross St., Chestertown 21620-1511. On the attached map, Kent is located at J3. A courthouse fire in 1720 destroyed some records.
