Jefferson is a county in Wisconsin. It was formed in 1836 from Milwaukee County. Jefferson began keeping birth records in 1852, marriage records in 1844, and death records in 1856. It began keeping land records in 1838, probate records in 1846, and court records in 1842. For more information, contact the county at 320 S. Main St., Jefferson 53549.
