Hampshire is a county in West Virginia. It was formed in 1754 from the following county/ies: Frederick, Va./Augusta, Va.. Hampshire began keeping birth records in 1865, marriage records in 1824, and death records in 1865. It began keeping land records in 1757, probate records in 1756, and court records in 1736.
