Greenwich is a town in Fairfield county in Connecticut. It was formed in 1665 from the following town or towns: Stamford (part of New Amsterdam, 1642'56). Greenwich is a part of the Greenwich probate district and has been since 1853. Stamford was/were the previous chronological district or districts.
