Effingham is a county in Georgia. It was formed in 1777 from the following county/ies: St. Mathews/St. Phillips parishes. Effingham began keeping birth records in 1927, marriage records in 1791, and death records in 1927. It began keeping land records in 1786, probate records in 1796, and court records in 1791.
