Douglas is a county in Kansas. It was formed in 1855 from the following county/ies: original . Douglas began keeping birth records in 1885'1907, marriage records in 1863, and death records in 1885'97. It began keeping land records in 1856, probate records in 1856, and court records in 1863. For more information, contact the county at 1100 Massachusetts, Lawrence 66044-3064. On the attached map, Douglas is located at K3 . Records destroyed 21 August 1863 in Quantrill's raid. Some marriage records reconstructed.
