Belknap is a county in New Hampshire. It was formed in 1841 from the following county/ies: Strafford/Merrimack. Belknap began keeping Vital records in 1841, and court records in 1841. County courthouse has copies of Strafford County deeds covering land that became part of Belknap after formation in 1840.
